Privacy Policy
Last updated 6 September 2026
The short version: your photos, alarms and streaks never leave your iPhone. Thrise has no account and no login. Camera frames are processed on your device and are never uploaded.
Since version 1.3.0, Thrise does send anonymous usage analytics — counts of which screens people reach, so we can see where the app is confusing. Never your photos, your alarm times, or anything that describes your morning. The detail is below.
Thrise is made by an independent developer based in Switzerland. For any privacy question, email hello@thrise.app.
What we collect
Thrise does not require you to create an account, and it never sends your personal data to us. Specifically:
- Camera: Wake-up challenges such as push-ups, “make my bed”, and “take a pic” use your camera to confirm you completed the task. Every frame is processed on-device using Apple’s Vision framework and is never uploaded, stored off-device, or shared. Photos captured for your gallery are saved only on your iPhone.
- Motion: The “Move around” and “Motion” challenges use device motion sensors on-device only.
- Alarms & settings: Your alarm times, days, challenge choices, streaks, and gallery are stored locally on your device.
- Notifications & alarms: Thrise uses Apple’s AlarmKit and local notifications to wake you. These are handled by iOS on your device.
Anonymous usage analytics
From version 1.3.0, Thrise sends a small number of anonymous, aggregate events so we can tell where people get stuck — for example, how many people finish setting up their first alarm versus how many stop partway.
What is sent: the name of the step reached (such as “welcome screen shown” or “first alarm created”), whether a subscription screen was shown, whether a wake-up challenge was completed or abandoned and which type it was, and whether a streak card was shared. Alongside each event our analytics provider attaches technical context: device model, iOS version, app version, language, region, time zone, and iOS accessibility settings such as whether you use larger text or reduced motion.
What is never sent: your photos or camera frames, your alarm or wake-up times, your streak history, your gallery, the names of your morning art, or any free text. Nothing that describes a particular person’s morning.
No tracking, no advertising. There is no IDFA, no App Tracking Transparency prompt, and nothing that follows you across other apps or websites. We do not use advertising SDKs and we never sell or share your data.
Who processes it. Our analytics provider is TelemetryDeck GmbH (Augsburg, Germany), acting as our data processor. Events are tied to a per-install identifier that is hashed on your device before it is sent, so it is not linked to your name, email, or Apple Account. TelemetryDeck hosts data with providers in Ireland, Germany, and the United States.
Not linked to you. These are product usage statistics, not a profile. They are not tied to your name, email, Apple Account, or anything we could use to identify you, and we make no attempt to. We rely on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding how the app is used so we can fix what is broken.
What we don’t do
- We don’t require or create an account.
- We don’t upload your camera frames, photos, or videos anywhere.
- We don’t use advertising SDKs, and we don’t track you across apps or websites.
- We don’t sell or share your personal data.
Subscriptions
Thrise Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the Apple App Store. Payment, billing, and renewal are handled by Apple under your Apple Account. We receive only the anonymised, aggregate subscription information Apple provides to developers; we never see your payment details.
Data you export or share
If you choose to share a morning-art image or time-lapse montage, that action is initiated by you through the iOS share sheet, and where it goes is controlled by you and the app you share it to.
Your rights & deleting your data
Your alarms, photos, streaks, and gallery live on your device. To erase them, delete the app from your iPhone; iOS removes its local data.
You have rights under the EU GDPR and the Swiss FADP (Federal Act on Data Protection) — access, correction, deletion, and objection. We hold no personal data about you to action: the usage statistics described above are not linked to you, to any account, or to any identifier we can trace back to a person.
If you have a question about any of this, email hello@thrise.app.
Children
Thrise is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
